What strong looks like

Has shipped something that changed a number and can say which number, and what else could have moved it. Can say what they chose not to build, or chose to ship despite doubts, and what the evidence was. Has applied judgement to a decision above them, whether by changing it or by improving it, and can say what the evidence was. Has a point of view on how a workflow should work, not just what users asked for. For AI PMs: designed an eval and killed a feature the model could not carry. For Domain PMs: learned the domain as an outsider and then challenged it.

Core must-haves

  • Shipped a product decision that moved a number they can name
  • Ownership in ambiguity: decided what to build with incomplete information and owned the result
  • Collaboration and influence with engineering and design without authority
  • A point of view on how a workflow should work, not just what users asked for
  • Communication: specs and narratives engineers execute from and executives fund
  • Understands model-backed products: evals, what the model cannot carry, when to kill an AI feature

Across every profile: ownership in ambiguity; communication that survives a follow-up; ai-native practice; verifiable outcomes.

Good to have

  • Technical depth: has shipped code or owned an API product
  • Customer-facing discovery in enterprise accounts
  • A vertical domain learned from outside: fintech operations, legal, healthcare
  • Growth and experimentation experience
  • Data fluency: SQL, dashboards, cohort analysis
  • Founding or 0-to-1 product experience

Seniority

Open from recent graduates to 15 or more years. We read level from what you have owned, not from years or brand. What the evidence looks like at each stage:

New grad to 2 years. Associate PM or an engineer or analyst who owned a feature end to end. Judged on the user problem they can describe and the live scenario.

2 to 5 years. Owns a feature area, has a killed scope, has changed a decision with evidence.

5 to 10 years. Owns a product line or platform, has had a product call tested by others' evidence and been right, has set strategy that others executed.

10 to 15+ years. Sets product direction for a company or a large area, decides what not to build at the portfolio level, has built a PM team.

What to bring

  • Two or three pieces of real work that fit the must-haves: how it came about, what was yours, what was reused, how you did it, what broke and how you fixed it.
  • How you work with AI agents. Where does AI sit in how you do product work today, research, specs, analysis, prototyping, or in the product itself?
  • What you’re looking for, and your constraints, which stay private.
